Laurens Science Project

Lauren has a science fair at school this week. She choose an experiment from what looked like a reputable site on the Internet. She wanted to make a tomato glow with a combination of bleach phosphorous and hydrogen peroxide. There was not even a trace of a glowing reaction. Lauren was disgusted. "Why would they do that. Tell us something that wasn't true. They make everyone just spend money and waste it for nothing!" She could not believe that they would put something on the Internet that wasn't true.
I wasn't there to witness the non-glowing tomato because I was sick in bed with food poisoning. A couple of hours earlier I ate some sushi from Harmons with raw fish. While running errands I found my self incapacitated with nausea. I tried to breath through it and talk myself out of it. Suddely I found my self on all fours in isle 17 loosing my cookies in a garbage can. I then hobbled over to the pharmacy to tell them what had happened. When we got home I went to bed and Trent took it from there.
The next morning I woke up and Trent asked how I was feeling I said fine and he said "Good because the house looks like a bomb went off. Good Luck!"
We did great even though I wasn't at 100%

Marathon Training

It has begun. The date has been set for June 12th 2010. The Teton Dam Marathon will be the first marathon I have ever participated in. There are rumors that Connie, Tyson, Josh, and Lindsay will also participate in this test of bravery and endurance. It will be very exciting.

First Day
This according to the Hal Higgdon Novice 1 training schedule is a rest day. I have read in several articles that apparently "rest" to a runner means another form of exercise like riding a bike or swimming. Hmmmmm. I went to the gym and did some upper body lifting and then put 40 very hard minutes on the stair master. My diet was good all day until I broke down and had 1/2 a Twix bar. It was so delicious and I enjoyed every morsel. I am proud that I walked away after the 1/2.

Second Day
The alarm goes off at 5:45 a.m. and I talk to myself. Why is it that important to run right now? Can't I just sleep and run later? I go through the schedule of the day a realize I can't so I muster the courage to pull myself out of bed and run. Three miles Hurray! I can't say it was a piece of cake but hey I did it. Tomorrow is another 3.

It is 11:34 p.m. Kate is awake. She says "When I go to sweep I have a bad day." She took a nap in the late afternoon which guarantees a late night for me and the kid.

Today in church Emily in all her four year old glory had her legs crossed and her scriptures out for sharing time. At times she acts like she is 30. Today she said "Mom, after I turn five on the next day lets get me some shots and then the next day I will go to school." She wishes she grew up yesterday. This Christmas she played in her first recital and did a great job.

Rachel crinkles her nose and giggles. She loves school and her teacher and life and everything always. What more can we say. Rachel started the cello this year and has become very good at Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Can Can.

Lauren is getting so grown up despite what I say. She likes to cook and make any craft. Lauren likes her violin and Math and Science. She loves her teacher and always have great things to say about what she learned at school.

We are having fun here in our little yellow house. The weather is mild for a winter compared to Idaho and we love it. The girls wish always for more snow. They want to learn to ski because Trent is going so much this year finally and he sometimes brings me. It has been a fun Winter.
